John Durso founded Brilliant Business Strategies with a simple belief: happiness and success in business comes from a deeper understanding of “fit.” With a career spanning over two decades in the retail banking industry and a deep background in the non-profit sector, John brings a unique perspective to coaching that combines financial acumen with a master-level ability to connect people and opportunities.
As the creator of the VICS method, John has pioneered a way for professionals to grow their practice through attraction and filtration rather than high-pressure sales tactics.
With over 22 years of experience in retail banking, John understands the unique pressures and regulatory landscapes that financial leaders face. He specializes in helping community banks and credit unions move from transaction-based management to relationship-driven leadership. His financial consulting expertise includes:

- Homers for Hope: Founded this 501(c)(3) charity in 2010 to provide financial assistance to local families navigating tragic life events.
- The Main Line Chamber of Commerce Foundation: Served as Chairman and spent nine years as a board member, where he pioneered the Non-Profit Roundtable.
- Sloane’s Roses: Founding board member in 2026 to assist families struggeling mentally and financially with the death of their child.
- Economic Innovation: Created the Ardmore “Downtown Dollars” program, a creative initiative that garnered national media attention for its impact on local commerce.
